NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN FOR THE
2026 CS TEACHER AWARDS
Are you a teacher who is successfully engaging Philadelphia students in computer science --
or do you know someone who is? If so, nominate yourself, a teacher you supervise, or a colleague.
Note: Teachers can be nominated or nominate themselves. In either case, nominations will not be considered unless teachers complete Section 3. Please review the guidelines below before starting the process. Applicants are strongly advised to work on the form offline because partially completed forms may not be saved in your browser.
TIMELINE for 2026 AWARDS

Friday, April 18: Deadline to nominate a teacher

Friday, May 8: Deadline for teacher submissions (including self-nominations)

Friday, May 15: Applicants notified of award decisions

June 2 or 3 (TBA): Awards Ceremony and Celebration Dinner (location to be announced). All Philadelphia CS teachers, Jumpstart Philly participants, program nominees and nominators will receive an invitation to attend the dinner where 2026 awardees will be recognized.
ELIGIBILITY
Teachers must meet the following criteria to be eligible for a CS Teacher Award:

Teach in the current school year (2025-2026)

Teach in the City of Philadelphia

Teach computer science in a District, charter, or private school classroom; and/or teach computer science in an out-of-school time program (in a school, library, recreation center, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, place of worship, community-based organization, etc.).
Note: CS Teacher Certification is not required.
AWARD CATEGORIES
Up to four awardees will be selected in the following categories:
Elementary Teachers (K-6)

Early Career Impact Award: those who have taught CS for five years or less

Sustained Impact Award: those who have taught CS for more than five years
Secondary Teachers (7-12)

Early Career Impact Award: those who have taught CS for five years or less

Sustained Impact Award: those who have taught CS for more than five years
